this vile capitalist regime is idiotic.
We're fighting illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, taxes are astronimical, poverty is widespread.
Crime is high. For millions in this country, life is hard and getting harder.
I can barely afford life here anymore. Time to drag Britain into a respectable country, agreed?

I don't think a government that is communist would work: they tend to pull the whole population down to the lowest common denominator and stifle development.
But one with more social conscience most certainly: it is undoubtedly true that people's indifference and lack of action leads to us getting the government we do - it SO annoys me when people complain about politics, government etc. but when you ask if they've ever voted, done anything to change it they always say "Nah, it's a waste of time" or somesuch. Of course nothing will ever change with that sort of attitude: having elections where 30% only bother to vote is pathetic! |

No, because then a lot of people would just vote for the most popular party, instead of the best one, because they have no interest in politics. Which could wreck the country _________________ LIKE A NIGHT OUT IN SWINDON

What do people do now then?! If people want to be fooled by PR and spin then that's their problem - at least if more voted then they'd get the government they elected, and perhaps be more vocal in getting politicians that have real policies in power. |

Why is it that when a Government gets unpopular you can never find anyone who will admit to voting for them. I am unfortunately old enough to have been eligible to have voted in the referendum as to whether we joined the Common Market in the early seventies where the nation voted Yes to joining. Now you cannot find anyone of my age group or above who will stand up and say they did.
Also as an aside I dont beleive that anyone who doesnt vote in any election be it national or local has any right to complain about the way in which they are governed |
