Indeed - I suppose that the person who feels unjustly treated is doing something more than just talk about it to friends?

I have a few friends who work in the Police Proffesional Standards unit who investigate allegations such as these. If this person has a complaint they should speak to the relevant authority rather than spread malicious gossip.
How many policemen are on duty in Calne at any given time? Does anybody know? |

I thought I'd read somewhere that only the enquiry office was closed, but that police still were using the station - they certainly still seem to have police cars there the few times I've gone past. |

They still use the station.....they need some where to go and have a coffee or get out of the rain.
As for how many are on at any given time, i used to know someone who worked in the control centre and she told me Calne hasn't always got a police presents, they have to rely on surrounding towns forces. Maybe the cars are parked in the Calne station to save fuel :!: |

Which paper was that? I remember seeing the article in the local paper talking about that, but what was the original national one that the vote came from?
I'd quite like to know what basis that vote was taken on - compared to other cities in the UK (and maybe even Swindon and Trowbridge in Wilts) it seems hard for me to believe that Calne is really that bad. |

i cant rememebr what paper it was in i think it was either in the mirror or the sun.
i will see if i can find the article.
i did try and look early on today but i did find this from the sun which is what we are talking about.
THE sleepy Wiltshire village is rocked each night by drunken youths. Local Cathy Angel said at weekends there are up to 200 teenagers roaming the streets high on booze and drugs.
Her son Jeremy, 18, was beaten up yards from his home.
Cathy said: “When I complained to the police, one of them told me to avoid the area.” |
