I remember Mr Lewis and his constant habit of licking his lips |
Mr Mundy walked around everywhere with 80's shades on all the time. He taught religious education. One of my favourite teachers, plus he was my tutor for years 4 and 5.
Mr Lewis was my chemistry teacher for the last 2 years. He used to walk around the classroom with a sawn off broomhandle and whack it on the desk next to you if he thought you weren't concentrating. I remember Jacob Quin dropping an entire flash of concentrated sulphuric acid right in front of his desk, he had a mini-fit that made everyone go dead silent. Before him we had Mr Parry, really tall and always wore a white lab-coat. I was also in the same year as Mr Lewis' son. I remember getting caught with a pair of chinese throwing stars that I made in metal-shop by Lewis, it was an hour in his office I'll won't forget in a hurry...

I am having difficulty in remembering mr lewis.
Deputy head? Was he the short fat bald one? I think he was.
I was outside his office regularly for not going into assembly. I kept telling him that he preaches god and how that is against my religion. He sent a letter home to Dad. Dad wrote back basically saying 'Yeah, and?
On the form you had at the start of the year where you are supposed to give your details (dob, next of kin, address, etc.) it used to have a box asking for your religion. Dad used to write 'Not relevant for education purposes'.
I hated mr lewis.
Mrs hopkins twin daughters were in my year.
Mr Mundy, I had dealings with him. I think he was my second year RE teacher. However, I remember ending up with mr drage for re in the same class. This could be because mr drage is more memorable.
Another favourite teacher was mr cook. The art teacher. He was a good un. He used to pass us on the path between castlefields and curzon park on the way home from school and tell us that we should be a bit more discreet with our fags. |

Hi, just found this forum and got my memory going
Mr Mundy lives in Salisbury and is heavily into the church, does counselling of the youf down there- used to ride a motor bike all the way from Salisbury every day to JB. TAll lanky with a hair cut like a monk without the tonsure.
Saw Mr Stagg & wife in Sainsburys last week- shocked as he can't have been as old as I thought at school.
Mr Lewis- also 'big in the church' as was Miss Gleed
Mr Rigby died many years back- had been a prisoner of war under the Japs, lovely gentle man.
Mr Drage- turned up running a psychology course a few years ago now properly retired and apparently still lives in Urchfont. Strange bloke- I babysat his kids several times, always trying to analyse things, but wicked sense of humour. Wasa vicar before becoming a teacher!
Mr Hulley now retired in Derbyshire.
Mr Nock was a rugby fan I remember- had a radio on for that, and a very keen bridge player. Used to go about with Trevor Johnson . Ah me where did the days go when all the teachers looked older and now they look too young to be teaching!!! |

I've also stumbled across this forum - it's mentioned in the comments on a youtube vid.
It never occurred to me that some of my teachers may now be dead!
Mr Aggett used to give lines like nobody else, even writing small you could get maybe 3 of his lines onto one side of a4 - I remember they started 'I must not perpetuate my idiotic tendencies...' I got 50 once!
My 1st year tutor was a geography teacher that eventaully married the german teacher - can't remember either names. That was 1T.
2nd year - Jock Maiden
3rd Year - was the german teacher i think
Mr Nock taught me economics.
Mr pett taught history and had a great explanation of Lord Palmerstons way of governing the known world and also a very phallic map of the charge of the light brigade.
Trevor Johnston - taught maths - he was good
This has got me thinking... |

I think miss levy had some sort of breakdown after she lost control of my english class and ran off in tears. She must of left at the end of that year summer 1985 because she turned up in bristol as a supply teacher and found me in here first lesson . she didn't stay very long after that can't think why |

I was taught history by Mr Pett, Mr Tucker and Mr Guilfoyle
I remember Mr Pett telling us that if you were sick you would always bring up carrots (true)
Was taught english by Mr Rix also Mr Griffin - a real legend!
maths by Mr Nock
I remember Mr Mundy teaching RE also Miss Rymer

You must have been a North Winger if you were in 1o. I had Mr Mundy for R.E. A very eccentric chap indeed. _________________
