I was looking at my eyelids at midnight yesterday. New years eve is just a fuss over nothing really. Bah, humbug, etc. _________________

Well for the first time in years (we had a babysitter) we went out.
We were in the Spice of Bengal having a "Eat as much as you want" Buffet, which was fantastic. They had complementary Champagne and made special orders for the Vegetarians in the group.... Then walked home, through a very quiet Calne (we even saw 2 very bored policemen on the beat)
Nice.... very nice....... and no hangover ! |

My head is as clear as glass.
Went to family's house, (old family tradition), and drove home at 12.15. |

| Sorry but as I am of Scottish descent and in my formative years spent most New Years Eves in Glasgow I have to say that the English have no idea how to bring ib the New Year. The most infuriating thing is when the clock strikes midnight and the landlord says drink up you lot havent you got homes to go to. My father would only use a pub in Scotland if it advertised that breakfasts would be served between 7am and 9am on New Years Day and then off to the Auld Firm game. |

 well i was a total bah humbug ! went to bed at 10pm only to be woken with fireworks that sounded like bombs going off ,in my defence i did have to be in work at 7am the next day.
i was chating to a taxi driver friend in chippenham and he said it was really quite on the rank.
Recently went to a pub and had a orange jc and lemonade and it cost £2.00 and it was only half a pint .
Its no wonder people shun pubs new yrs eve with prices like that . |
