| How about if it was made law for everyone who is not married or in a stable relationship to have to go on the pill to stop the relentless increase in the population of this country. Closing the borders would help but dont get me started or I will end up being accused yet again of being a racist. Also once couples have had two children they should be automatically sterilised as the population explosion has to stop |

| No i dont agree chemists should be allowed to just give the pill to any old tom dick and harry, the pill carries side affects and needs to be monitored by a doctor. I would never of agreed for my daughter to go on it if she wasnt having regular check ups at the doc's. |

| Yes, it should be generally available. Doctors just rubber-stamp any request from patients to go on it, thus why involve them? |

I, as a full time working woman, would find it easier to obtain the pill if i could just pop into the chemists and get it. The hassle i go through at the moment just to get an appointment with the nurse for my 6 monthly prescription is a nightmare and i have to take time out of work to do so, and once at the appointment usually end up waiting for an extra 30 mins as they are running late
I think as long as teenage girls go to the doctor in the first instance to make sure that this is suited to them and to get them selves checked out - then there should not be an issue.
All the nurse does with me is check my weight, blood pressure and ask me the same questions about family heart and stroke histrory, smoking habits, breast checks and do i know how to use the pill properly. I'm sure a chemist can do this and if anything changes could refer back to a doctor if necessary _________________ aut viam inveniam aut faciam! |

the thing is how many 15 and under wait till at least its to late to do anything about it.the thing is and lets be honest if they can get them over the counter at least it may reduce the pregnancy rates.some youngsters feel that they cant go to there parents or anything. and in this day and age it dosnt compleatly destroy your life.
what need to be taught to the youngters is a bit of self respect and learn how to wait. |

It's not just pregnancy they have to watch out for though is it? What about the increased rates of STD's? The pill isn't going to combat that is it? _________________

The pill being given out is no menial thing and can have serious health consequences. For those who consider popping in to have weight and such monitored as a waste of time, I wonder how you may feel if you suddenly developed one of the more serious side effects related to the pill? How would you know?
Pill being prescribed for under age girls is perhaps better than the teenage pregnancies we have a lot of here in the UK, but I do think parents should be informed of ALL medication given out to minors. I find it a sad tragedy that school can not give even a sticking plaster yet can hand out morning after pills to under age children.
Q. How do we know it worked when the morning after pill is taken?
A. We don't!
The morning after pill can never be proven to work or not to work. Not all unprotected sex results in pregnancy, ergo nothing about the post coital pill can be proven one way or the other. It's the greatest con ever.
I see one of us has Chinese extremism in mind to control the population - enforced sterilisation and enforced taking of the pill!
I suppose it's a slight improvement on gas chambers and death camps, but not by a long chalk.
Don't fret Bear, the way things are heading more and more couples are finding sterility problems and can't conceive at all. Some of the rest are too drunk or drugged up to get it together and half the rest are too poor or tired to get it on. _________________ Democracy is dead. |
