I have seen the "goal" but the Liverpool manager seems to be taking it rather well. I can't see Alex Ferguson lying down and letting a freak goal like that to stand. The consensus is that the goal should never had stood because the ball struck a foreign object before going into the goal - or something like that.
Here is that Goal. _________________

the rules of footbal do talk about "foreign objects" and the rules go on to state that in these circumstances the goal should not have stood.
I agree Liverpool in public seem to have quite a relaxed attitude about the affair not sure Ferguson would have the same opinion! _________________ A lifelong Calne supporter |

I think the fact that it happened in the first ten minutes of the game helps keep things a little bit calmer. Just imagine if Liverpool had 95% of the play but Sunderland make a break deep into injury time and score a goal that goes in to make it 1 - 0? I think things would be a tag different then. _________________

If it had happened to Moan United (no typo honest) Fergie would still be moaning at Xmas (but then again they woulda got 25 mins injury time to score an equaliser)
