It looks like Pine and Cane on A4 has closed. What will shut next? Did anyone ever go in there anyway? Any ideas for what should go there instead?

Oh, and hello again by the way!

Bought one thing from them, a book case. We ordered it in June and it's being delivered next week!!

Even if they were still open we wouldn't be going there again.

i bee in there a few times .one thing i did find was it was so expensive.many moons agao that used to be a car garage and fuel garage which.
if it closes what should replace it?
i hope that a store gets its.it would do a good trade there  providing that the parking in and out of the place is sorted.

we purchased many items over the last 10 years and while not the cheapest it did save me travelling far and wide to get what we wanted.

there used to be a garage with fuel pumps, the agricentre vehicles used to be serviced there.  after that it became a car dealership, part owned by Mr Peter Hider. it held the Lada franchise for many years.

what shop is likely to take it on given the current economic climate, would anyone like to take it on and what would you sell?

something like a tesco would be good there .on the main a4 how many pop in to the shop on the way home for work.there is about a 5mile gap between shops .it would serve the people of derry hill and studley for a start and the passing trade.

I reckon it is a prime location for a couple of houses to be built.

school road to that site is under 2 miles.

surely there is enough tesco's in this world with another one being spawned. the amount of traffic generated from all the misguided people in the area going to the shop would result in endless traffic jams and I suspect not a few accidents.

god forbid it ever happening.

I wouldn't want a supermarket there if I lived near there. If a car sales business can't make it pay on the side of a main road then there's not much hope for any other business there  -that's why I reckon it will go for housing. I would have thought The Soho pub wouldn't mind that option either.

if you travel form the main a4for work for each shop you have to turn off .and go out of your way to get to a shop.
it dosnt have to be a tesco shop .any shop would be good.or it should be flattened to be made in to a car park.
