Liam Dawson Calne's only current cricket professional is flying off to South Africa on the 4th January. He is captaining England at under 19 level an honour some are tipping him to achieve at senior level. So watch this space!
Following his maiden first class hundred against Nottingham in the last game of the 2008 season he was awarded a 3 year contract and will be a member of the Hampshire first team squad.
Congratulations to Liam and good luck in South Africa.

he followed his father and played for a better team, namely Goatacre and then moved on to Chippenham.
Calne have improved considerable over the last few years and hopefully will continue to do so but they have not been that strong a side.
his younger brother Bradley is currently playing for Goatacre and is a more than handy golf player. he is also involved with Gloucester County Cricket. _________________ A lifelong Calne supporter |

Liam was a member of the Hampshire team that beat Sussex in the 50 over Friends Provident final at Lords Cricket ground on Saturday 25th July 2009.
He bowled but did not bat as Hampshire won with ease. I am sure that this will be the first of many winners medals he will win! _________________ A lifelong Calne supporter |

a chip of the "old block" as his father, Andy, played in the Goatacre team that played in the national village championship at Lords in 1990 again on the winning side.
a strong motivator for Liam I am sure. _________________ A lifelong Calne supporter |

Nice to see a local lad doing well. I did hear his name mentioned on the radio 4 commentary.
