More houses are fine. Providing the topwn center can cope. Create another shopping area elswhere and it will ease the problem in the center. Chippenham has several shopping area's and I have never had a problem parking in any of them.

the traffic flow by the Wheatsheaf its now far quicker to go to Devizes Lidl or Morrisons and usually much cheaper too. i do use Somerfields in Calne cause its this end of town but half the time you go there they never have any bread lately and the shelves are never filled often enough

How long before they create a new by-pass from below Cherhill to the top of Oxford road in Calne - going through Compton Bassett? Compton Basset would then be absorbed into a bigger Calne with new housing etc.

The story goes that English China Clay the compny who once owned the Sand Pit and the factory sited next to it wanted to do just that back in 1989 when they opened the factory but for some reason ( I have been told why but couldnt say here as I might be wrong and could be sued for libel) the council declined the offer only to come back to the new owners later in the 90s and were told that the company could no longer afford such a project. An oppurtunity missed I would say.

Not if you say 'allegedly' first then 'I could be wrong' after.

I have read something somewhere (not very helpful, I know) about the link road. I think it was in a proper publication that came through the door.
