With chirstmas looming there is a spate of thefts. If you found one inside your house would you harm him.Even if he never attacked you.
I would.

Tony Martin you mean.
Read these articles: they show another side of someone who was obsessive about burglars, set traps for them and then shot one of them in the back.

In the US they have a doctrine known as Castle Doctrine where some states can allow lethal force against intruders: however, it means you can end up shooting people that had a reason to be there (or thought they did) and seems wholely excessive IMHO. |

I wouldn't just let some scumbag walk into my home and take what they wanted, while i watched and waited for the police.
I was confronted by 3 Youth's 2 years ago, whilst quietly watching the telly i heard my front window being rattled and prised open.
They obviously thought no one was in !
I peeped through the curtains and there they were trying to force it open ............ I called the police and then whipped open the curtains and shouted something obscene (you can guess if you want) at them to go away.
They absolutely Shot through the roof in fright and one of them tripped over. As i shot out the front door to chase them, they legged it, one of them tripping and crashing head first into the side of a nice big tree, The police were there in minutes ...2 cars .... and they caught up with guys and chased them all over the estate.
They caught one and arrested him ..... They'd been to other places to rob too apparentley !
I felt targeted, insecure and violated after and if it had not been for me going out to physically get them, i would have worried about them coming back again but as it was ......... i knew they wouldn't try our place again .
We have since moved and i would do exactly the same again, these people are generally young, unconfident and want no hassle, they just want to get in your house and take what they can .......... Hassle them, scare them and call the police.
But above all dont make your house a target in the first place ! |
