Crikey, what a thread! There's a ton of memories in here. I remember mucking around in Ernle road and taking that cut through the shop onto Oxford street. Used to do that every time!

I remember asking the caretaker of Dunstans if we could use the pool during the summer holidays, that was loads of fun. Also mucking around the port marsh trading estate right at the end where they were always building stuff.

I remember that really tall slide at the Wreck, it seemed really big to me at the time. I understand that's all gone now.

Let's see, my memory is a little sketchy, it's been 17 years. I can remember the day when they started the demolition of Harris's, I think it was a school day and I was either on my way there or back. Crowds of people watching as they started it all up.

There was a butchers on London road near the turning onto Silver street where my mum would but sausage rolls from. Best ever I swear.

Playing in the pub garden at the back of the bricklayers arms in the hazy summers while the parents relaxed over a few drinks. Then heading over to that pub at Derry Hill and feeding the birds in their avery.

The Bowood house adventure playground, getting chucked down that big undercover slide.

The caretaker of Dunstan School was a chap called Gordon Weston - he used to be a drinving instructor for Porter School of Motoring in his spare time as well.
