Hello site admin

I have been very inpressed witht the layout of a site callled NEWBURY.NET. I accept that this is your website and you can do with it as you will but you have been seeking ideas on what it should contain.

If you look at this website the layout is quite straight forward with 4 or 5 basic headings. it is actually hosted by an unbiassed party(?) but really gets involved in the local issues.

You get your party political hotheads but they each make a contribution and there is currently a good discussion on local government steering groups that have only recently been discovered after 10 years of operation. There is a lot of humour and some really telling comments. but there is always room for the individual to make comments. I recommend a viewing even if you do not adopts its format. It is as I said your Forum to with as you will...........

I will certainly have a look, Attrebates. Like Top Dog said, this is a very young site (two months old!!) so we are making alterations along the way so that it will improve the layout and usage for the members.

I have e-mailed several politicians (Labour, Conservatives, UKIP, etc) that serve the Calne area with regards to putting their political view point across (in our politics section) and maybe make comment on anything that has been said so far by one of our members. To date none have replied as yet or logged onto this site.

Yes it's "www.newbury.net " then click "forums" in the menubar.

It is a little more robust than Calnetalk as it has been running a lot longer, but there are enough educated adults to sort out the miscreants and they soon go away. As i say i find it easy to navigate but it is CALNETALK is your baby. Maybe others can suggest other sites they've seen so that you can steal what you perceive to be the best ideas from all

Have had a quick look at the Newbury site Attrebates and it does have some good points but as you said yourselve we should really try and pick the best bits from several sites because I dont think one site alone will have all the answers.
Clunk for example was quite right to put forward his suggestion for rankings, not one that I would adopt I have to say but all these ideas should be put forward if this site is to develop.
