It used to be the resting place for the Scottish Kings.
I went to Iona about 8 years ago. It's a bit of a journey to actually get there: get a ferry from the Scottish mainland over to the isle of Mull, travel right across the island and then get a second ferry over to Iona. It's well worth if though because of its history and it has a certain magical aura about it. _________________

it is well worth it.wou.ld have loved to have spend more time on mull but from the ferry crossing to mull and the ferry crossing to iona it takes about 2 hours. as you have to do the entire lenth of mull.
