dangerous is a relative term.

1. numbers killed by...
2. most likely to bite...
3. snappiest...
4. most toxic.

I put it to the world that the hot dog is responsible for more deaths per year than any canine...   Big Smile

Interresting though that a sausage dog is listed as most agressive.

I have never ever met an aggressive sausage dog!!

I have been bitten by a Chihuahua (or rat on a rope as i like to call the mutts)  He bit me on my mouth.

I've been snapped at by a Jack Russell

Never seen an Akita or Austrailian Cattle Dog

I've seen a Pitbull rip a cat apart (it was destroyed in the end as the owners were concerned next time could have been a child)

Never met an aggressive Beagle, English Springer or Border Collie

And all the German Shepherds I've been in contact with have been quite gentle.

Who decided on this list?  Where are the Dobermans, Rottweilers and Yorkshire Terriers - I've experienced aggression from all these type of dogs.

World wide, I read that Dobermans are less agressive than Alsations/German Shepherds.  They kill fewer people in other words.

Having worked in an animal rescue centre which specialised in 'unhomeable' dogs and dogs with 'difficult' temperaments, I know that the most agressive dogs which came through, the ones most likely to bite people, were collies and labradors.

This was simply a snapshot of a small centre in Somerset, but after five years and perhaps 500 dogs, this is what they found.

a jack russel (of all the dogs!) is the only breed that has bitten both myself and my belgian shepherd.
The soppiest has to be Kathy's rotty (has to be seen tobe believed!) Big Grin

Now .... stiffle your laughs......

I have been chased by a sausage dog.

I have a vivid memory as a child of being chased by this crazy, elongated brown and white beast up on Porte marsh industrial estate, when we used to go pond dipping there for newts.
It was snarling and biting and had the owner not grabbed it would have been a different story.

I am a dog lover ....but.... i would never have one of those evil little blighters !

And yes..... i am serious !

i can really believe that chepfer, i used to work for a lady that bread sausage dogs...... i also would never have one of those devil dogs  Big Smile

as you all know we have 5 dogs, and yes my rotties is the softiest dog you will ever meet. the one with the shortest temper is the belgian shepherd but then she is an old lady at the grand old age of 13 human years. the one that will attack any other dog is the springer ( i think he thinks he's a rottie)

as ive said before ANY dog can attack, it down to the breeding and the upbringing.

My german shepherd was badley mistreated by his last owners, we have worked hard with him and he's getting there.
ALL my dogs are put into there own room when we have people come to the house, only if they ask to see them do we bring them in.
