What with the high turnover of retail outlets on the edge of our most salubious shopping "arcade" :pukeright:
I wonder if some ghoulish apparation of Calne Past has jinxed the place :sad6:
Lets hope Woolies fares better.. I really love their pick & mix!

Liquor save, them were the days!
Quemerford is haunted by a black hound which can be seen crossing the road near the post office, on its way to Blacklands.
This is a bad omen...so beware! |

As long as the "Hell" Hound does not "deposit" anything on his travels, I remain unconcerned. Am still being haunted by dog crap wherever I turn! 
New Meeting at Calne Sports Centre: "Lets Scoop the Poop from Calne" hopefully the sound system will work this time! Personally I think having dog poop at the front of my house devalues it far more than having gypsies in the local vicinity! I live in a rough neighbourhood anyway! Have always consolled myself with the thought it was best to live amongst/near to the criminal fraternity (though I do not class travellers as criminal!) as unlike dogs they do not "s***" on their own door step!
Whats happened to the Emoticons they all look ill and haunted? Also replacing the old ones has made my last "massage" look even more twitty than usual!

Rumour has it that the town is haunted by a policeman. Apparently years ago a policeman regularly wandered the streets of Calne giving comfort to those elderly folk who felt vunerable and doing much to enhance the feeling of community and also acting as a deterrent to those who may be considering acting in a criminal manner. Then the politically correct brigade arrived and the policeman was no longer to be seen......
However, on a couple of nights a year, if you look very carefully, you may again see this policeman wandering around but do not approach him as he may disappear again.

Ah, but don’t be conned there are things called Community Muppets who are allowed to dress almost like Policeman and they can someone times be spotted and confused for the lesser spotted Policeman! (emphasis on the LESSER)

you're getting confused here. Political correctness has nothing to do with any decline there may have been in police presence.
