When dealing with personal use of taking/abuse of illegal substances in the UK, the government always gets very emotional and likes to be seen to be acting with an 'iron fisted' reaction. I am talking about the various classes of drugs which are nowadays illegal here in the UK, even as far as wild mushrooms, which is ridiculous!

In contrast to the above, the UK plc likes to exploit it's vast power on the world stage by ignoring international law, when it feels like, and using banned weaponry. Included in this are DU weapons and Nuclear weapons. Both are banned under international laws and agreements of which the UK are signatories.

If you want to be labelled a junkie or criminal, then no.

Personally, if it's illegal then it's simple,

JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS!

Why waste your life??????

With regard to the weapons, sorry Geddi, I am all for having a suitable deterrent to protect our country.

Ok lets announce to the world that drugs are ok to take here and at the same time announce we have not a single weapon here that we can use ..........

What would happen ...... Greed is a human nature, it is a part of life ....... we have to deal with it ........ Perhaps we should have just let hitler take over britain ........ we'd all be one big happy family by now, wouldn't we ......... ??????.

We need deterants to protect our people against these kind of situations, i can see North Korea's ruler licking his lips at the very thought of it, especially if the US followed suit and said .... no more weapons here either !

However nice the romantic idea is of having no weapons is, it just won't work.

Though, think bigger ............ Perhpaps it's planet earths way of cleansing itself of too many people living here on it's surface ..... perhaps thats why so many dieseases and ailments are so rife at this time ........ it's all a natural process !

Chepfer taking your point a step further I once saw a programme on television, it may have been the Sky at Night I forget, with Patrick Moore discussing the posibility of other life in the Universe. His conclusion was quite frightening he believed that there were three possibilities. Firstly we are the only life to have developed. Scondly that we were the first and are therefore the most advanced so no other species would yet be able to communicate with us and thirdly and most worryingly he suggested that the reason we have yet to have made contact is that no other civilisation as ever managed to get past the nuclear stage without destroying itself. Food for thought
