Make sure you give it plenty of support.
I grew 5 last year 4 went with the wind .
also slugs love them .
one way to stop this is cut a top of a plant pot off .
anough to go over the sunflower .
get some copper tape and stick all around the plant pot.
slugs dont like copper at all.
sunflowers also get attacked by black fly is you see any of them on there use tepid water with a bit of fairy and gevtly pour over the stem of the sunflower. |

Be careful with the fairy liquid only a drop it has salt in it.
Copper give off a small electrical current that the slugs and snails dont like.

Thanks for that ....... it's in and looking ....well ..... small at the moment.
This sun is helping though .... whats the record height of one of these things ?
Copper sounds great .... though i may add a battery to the end of the wire ... Just for that extra bit of slug death fun ! |
