Our village only had yellow ducks but my grandson came 3rd and won 10 pounds. Was a great event with loads of money made. Was the big ones a seperate race?

| big ducks were sponsored by business in the town. Not really a race, just great advertising! |

| Good pictures! What is the history of the duck race thought? It seems such an odd thing to do, how did it start? |

Great photos, Pimpdriver. Do the organisers ensure that every plastic duck is removed from the river once the race is done? I suppose the odd few make the great escape. _________________

There are 3 or 4 guys in drysuits following the ducks getting them out of the reeds and places they get stuck.
The photos are only 640x480 on the website, they were take with a Canon digital SLR (EOS400D).
Great camera. But I only use it for taking snaps, but want to get back into proper photography, I used to have a Pentax MG and now have a Pentax Program A film camera.
