Our village only had yellow ducks but my grandson came 3rd and won 10 pounds. Was a great event with loads of money made. Was the big ones a seperate race?

big ducks were sponsored by business in the town. Not really a race, just great advertising!

Good pictures! What is the history of the duck race thought? It seems such an odd thing to do, how did it start?

Great photos, Pimpdriver. Do the organisers ensure that every plastic duck is removed from the river once the race is done? I suppose the odd few make the great escape.

There are 3 or 4 guys in drysuits following the ducks getting them out of the reeds and places they get stuck.

The photos are only 640x480 on the website, they were take with a Canon digital SLR (EOS400D).

Great camera. But I only use it for taking snaps, but want to get back into proper photography, I used to have a Pentax MG and now have a Pentax Program A film camera.
