sorry, musicals are not my bag, but this was excellent and I have seen it twice now and would be more than happy to see it again.
Its an excellent feel good film with the great music and fantastic scenerie(?).
If you have not been to Greece then this may make you want to go.

I thought it was Piers Brosnan who sang off key and was a bit wooden.
The star for me was Meryl Streep who seemed to be very much enjoying her self. I thought Julie Walters came a close second.
They came into the film with no history of singing/dancing but really enhanced their reputations.

This very much a feel good film and no one is blown up, shot, mutilatedand their are no car chases.
Another reason for watching it.

some actors can do musicals.

like many things its a matter of personal choice.
I did not see Evita because I do not like Madona and would not walk to the end of my garden to see her.

Sorry I thought Julie Walters very plausible as a scatty middled aged (or slightly older) woman and she gave an excellant performance.

I went to see mama mia at the cinema ,its the only time i have ever watched a film and normaly when you know its the end people start to leave ,this time nobody moved and at the end every one started clapping. It certainly is a feel good film if you are having a crap day watch this film ,would definatly recomend it .
