the land next to the North Star club, the playing field is where the town council want to build a new community centre. It will take up approx 1/5 of the field behind the football clubs stand. there will be an access off the roundabout in School Road. if built it will be the 3rd hall (Bremhill View & North Star Club) within spitting distance of each other.
I don't agree with any building on a playing field for what ever reason and why do we need 3 halls?
any way I assume thats what you are thinking about

i dont agree in that field ever being build on.as i understood it it was given to the council for the people of calne to stay a field as part of a will.
in the summer time that field is used hell of a lot by kids playing cricket/football,ive seen football teams train on there.
it is used constantley for people who walk dogs.
where would they all go if it wasnt there ?the dogs would have to crap on pavements ,the kids would have to play football in the street (loads of complaints then)
if something is built and the acces is on school road willl there finaly become a pedestrian crossing there?
the north star has now been extented so there is no need for three hall.

Local Lass the North End playing field was in fact purchased in 1936 for the grand sum of £100 from the widow of Lord Lansdowne. It was purchased so the council could comply with legislation to provide land for recreation.
If there is a planning application for any part of it (the playing field) it has to be agreed by the goverment.
If there is someone out there who would like to start a petition against the proposed hall please let me know as I would like to sign it.
