I'd get rid of the 6 large blocks of flats at the end of Forman Street.

It's depressing waking up every morning, opening the curtains and seeing them there.

make the end of wood street wider again and open up the road again so the traffic can go down by the kings arms and again.

get rid of all the charity shops and make it a rule that there is a good mix of shops having a maximum on only 2 hairdressers/2 cafe not 8 hairdressers as it stands now.
knock down the new lansdowne estate and get it back as the fields and farmland what it once was.

It continues to annoy me the way in which house builders are allowed to get away with cramming as many houses as possible into an area of land apparently unhinder by the local council planning department who seem to object to anyone else doing anything to improve there property. I understand why the builders do it as it gives them a bigger return on their investment but my view is that more traditional houses which have room add to the general feeling of weel being in a community.

You mean the face .?

modernise the pubs
Many of the pub are going to modenise due to the smoking ban

add some more flowers

The flowers around the town last summer was brilliant and none vandalised like they normally are.

add a little more high level cctv in the town centre
Last i heard they were having trouble with finding people whoi would watch the cctv what is around the town.

make a prettier area by the streams etc.
I think they have done this also.By putting benches by the river behind castle walk where it links to the cycle track.

Take a look in the calne photography section you will see quite a few pics of calne all of which were taken in the last year.
instill a bit of pride in the place.
