my favourite single malt is Talisker from the isle of skye, but I am also very partial to Chateau Talbot or Chateau Margaux.
Don't get to partake to often due to the high costs involved.
I have brought Talisker in a small supermarket in the french alps for £17.00 while in Sainsburys in Calne it was marked up at £26.00.

I have an unopened bottle of Talisker at the moment - I also have bottles of Laphroaig, Bowmore, Macallan, Ardbeg Uigeadail, Ardbeg Renaissance (very rare to get hold of!) and a couple of blends. I don't drink them very often because they are too expensive to just quaff - the Ardbegs are more than £40 a bottle! Talisker is a very nice malt, not too dissimilar from an Islay malt but not as peaty.
Have you ever tried "Black Bottle" which is a blend of all the Islay malts?
