Why not?  I don't agree with the death penalty as there is a chance of an innocent person being executed - Especially when now and then a story crops up of someone who was convicted to life imprisonment in the late seventies/early eighties who are being freed as the evidence against them was dubious and they have now been found innocent.

But I believe that prisoners should not live a life of luxury - the majority in there are guilty and should be punished accordingly.  They should not be allowed any non-essential items.

All they should be allowed is basic wash kits and basic meals (which they pay for) with water and a suitable library with general literature - they don't need television, magazines, computers, coffee, chocolate, cigarettes etc

They are not there to enjoy themselves.

They should be made to feel that they are being punished for their crime by being deprived of everyday luxuries

unfortunately its not like that, they do have luxuries, tv chocolate, mags etc.....
and 3 good meals a day, tea and coffee when they want!

Even how many per cell is restricted due to do-gooders and human rights  Roll eyes

I think we are too soft, after all most are in there because they committed a crime.
If we wont bring back the death penalty, stop with the mammy pammy stuff and start getting making prison a place they dont want to go back to!
