What is Christian values? Stoning an adulterer? Oppressing minorities?
You all make very valid points but what I was trying to get at is why does this country still feel the need to have religions involved at a fundamental level at all? I have no problem with a lesson teaching kids all about different religions which forms (mainly third world) some countries cultures, but to base a kids education on just one religion and talk about it as fact I think is ridiculous. I find it exasperating when my kids come home from school and your talking about science or nature and they suddenly come up with the statement that god created whatever you were looking at. I then politely tell them that no, he/she/it did not create it but it is either created by a natural scientific way or simply evolved as a way of changing to suit its environment. They are then left slightly confused because they are being told several versions of how things come into being. Why not leave the fairy stories at home and stick to the facts!!
Here's how ridiculous the bible is when it comes to stating something: Click here.
This is a slightly more satirical view of what constitutes prayer but isn't far from the truth.

Science was once asked to prove that god doesn't exist and to prove desicively that the big bang happened ....... they couldn't |
The likely hood is that they are a lot more closer to proving the big bang theory than proving the Guy in the sky exists.
