Sorry if this is a political comment BUT (and it's relevant) for 2 would be councillors to not know that WE ALREADY have a mobile cinema that comes to Calne very month and shows the most up to date films .... IN THE TOWN HALL .... and is very successfull, is quite shocking.
All this twittering of, I'll do this and I'll do that ...... perhaps a little knowledge of what's actually happening in this town (in your own town hall) on a general users level would be good.
Heres the link . you've all just missed Slum dog millionaire and Vicky christina Barcelona ........

I hope that I am not senile just yet but I seem to recall mentioning the fact that a mobile cinema comes to Calne earlier in this thread. Yes it is on a monthly basis and is a small screen. It is better than nothing but can't compare with a purpose built facility.
Its only a dream of mine but I think it would benefit such a lot of people. Should we not have aspirations, should we not strive to improve our lot.
Elected or not I will still try to make a difference, I wish others would try. _________________ A lifelong Calne supporter |

Sorry Peter, I have tarred you both with one brush havn't I.
It was this comment from Chuck that caught my eye .....
"What about the one in Hilmarton it is showing Slum Dog! We could use a digital travelling cinema at say Bremhill maybe"
Strange how Chuck new Hilmarton were showing Slum dog but never knew he could see it in his own town.
Again apologies. |

He must have seen a poster in Hilmarton while driving to work, you made the mistake of assuming that Calne is his own town as it is not.
His nomination paper shows his address as Lower House, Chelworth. SN16 9SF, so perhaps its not that unbelieveable that he did not know about the mobile cinema in Calne!
We all know that Calne post codes are all SN11. _________________ A lifelong Calne supporter |

As I have said quite a few times before I am partner in a business in Calne SN11 9PR but live in Chelworth.
I spend more of my waking hours in Calne than anywhere else, I work with Calne people and will look after them better than anyone standing in my view.
I am not going to say anymore than that if you think I am not genuine in my thoughts then quite simply you can demostrate that by voting for Sophy or Peter both of whom will I am sure be fine.
I wouldn't put up if I was not genuine and would not work for North Calne like no other.

Chuck may be a great guy, I never met him (at least I don't think I have) but it is surprising that his party could not find a candidate from Calne.
How about Shauna Bodman or Nancy Bryant they live a lot closer to the town but were not selected. Nancy chose to stand against Cristine Crisp in Calne Rural and I wish her well. She is going to need a lot of help from family and friends. _________________ A lifelong Calne supporter |

To all intents and purposes I am from Calne more time in Calne than some who live there or rather more time wake, shopping, working, eating drinking etc... hell you will claim what you claim I know what I know and we see what happens on the day. You have a lot of support Peter and the last result in Lickhill was pretty indicative so to turn that round will take a lot of work.
I am sure the poeple of Calne will be pleased with their choice whichever way it goes.
Chuck
