It's Saturday 29th - not sure why the confusion as it's been always on a Saturday, certainly in recent years.

I am also not sure why there should be any confusion as Rosco points out its always on a Saturday and has been advertised as such. I think I remember seeing a great big banner outside the council offices, a poster in thwe library and on the 2 council notice boards in town.
I would also assume that the workshop organisor know what day its on and would be passing that on to anyone attending them. |

Please come along show your support and meet the "Lantern Lady" and team and make the parade spectacular success. :thumbr: |
Not sure where confusion has arisen but CAIAC is aiming at the 29th November in partnership with CTC Christmas lights switch on. _________________ A pessimist is an optimist..................with experience. |

Have discovered where confusion arises. A certain town over the hill from Calne and beginning with the letter D holds its lantern parade on the 28th November. This is NOT Calne which IS on 29th.
Confusion cleared I hope. :thumbl: _________________ A pessimist is an optimist..................with experience. |

| Devizes copied our lantern parade after we had a couple of successful years, you cannot blame them. I think we can "blame" our deputy town clerk as she I understand was the town centre development officer for Devizes at the time. |

I can tell you where the confusion arises.
As I said earlier, we have a leaflet called "Mum's the word" which we got from school I think and it is definitely in there as Friday 28th. |

Regardless of "blame" the FACT is that CALNE's Lantern Parade is on the 29th November 2008 to co-incide with CTC Christmas light switch on.
Lantern workshops are operational seven days a week. NOW ! !
Pimpdriver, might be worthwhile 'having a word with your Mum'. _________________ A pessimist is an optimist..................with experience. |
