Kathy: where the ground is is usually the midpoint of deciduous trees.  When you do anything to affect the roots you affect the tree's ability to take up water.  The upper leafy, fruiting parts are where the tree evapotranpirates from, meaning it loses water from here.  The problem is water.  

Do likewise unto the top which hast been done unto the root and redress a balance.

In other words - prune the top and prune hard!  It may survive another year, though you'll have lost all chance of fruit from it for this year.   Do this and drench it daily with a few gallons of water and it may yet live.

P.s. keep the depth of planting exactly as it was before you moved it.

:lol:  its coming back to life.......... i didnt cut it, just watered it loads, its working the leaves are green again  :lol:
