Block: not too painful, was it?

I am of the view that compensation should be in balance and should not drag on nor do more harm than the original bad thing.

There are still groups chasing a third and even fourth compensation settlement from Germany, Switzerland and France for the holocaust victims  (very controversial among the holocaust survivors themselves).

I wonder what time limit should be taken as reasonable?  Could I, as being partly from Denmark, insist I go to East Denmark and settle, for example?

I agree - there's nothing to be gained by continually pushing for reparations and you risk creating more problems by punishing people for something they had nothing to do with.

Local Lass: That case of the Iraqi is a bit different really.

It's something which is part of an ongoing situation, not something which happened decades or centuries ago.  When someone gets shot in the spine, or run over, or poisoned or whatever, by someone who is part of a corporate situation, the corporation should rightly pay up if they are at fault.  Or are you totally against suing people at all?

Why do you say that? How would you feel if a foreign power came and occupied your country, and shot people you knew - would you think them saying 'sorry' was enough?

Kathy: Are you saying that the man who came to UK from Iraq was wrong or right to be be paid £1 million in compensation for being shot by a British soldier?

Kathy: Are you saying that civilians who get killed by soldiers in the civilian's own country is ok?  The soldier should be allowed to do this and no consequences?  Are you saying that when a country invades another country the invading troops can kill whoever they wish to and get away with it?

If you are saying this then I quite positively have little more to say to you.
