kathy27, inheritance tax is a form of "redistribution of wealth" which could be looked at as a communist principle where everyone is equal. Unfortunately, not all people are equal, some work damn hard for their money whilst others sit back and are happy to live of benefits for their entire existance. Why should I, after paying taxes for all my working life have to pay even more tax on money and estate that has already had the tax taken out of it before it passes on to my children? If they want to hit the rich then stick the limit at something like £2m or something. |
I agree totally with you here: I thoguht it was something that Labour were going to address when they got into power, but seems to be another thing that got swept under the carpet (just like changing the silly house-buying system). It is outrageous to my mind taxing people on death like this, but as it brings in money the government is not interested in changing it.

inheritance tax is a fact and no goverment is going to do away with it.
The threshold for the tax has not been increased for many years. An email to the prime minister demanding a rise in the threshold would not go amiss.
There are ways to mitigate your inheritance tax liability the rich and super rich do it all the time, do your home work and reduce your families potential "loss" while you can.
One of the ways is to become a member of the S.K.I CLUB! |
