http://juopu.notlong.com 22 March 2008 Maple Syrup time. The location is South of Brantford, Ontario.
It takes a reduction of 40 to 1 to make Maple Syrup. It is simplely boiled until reduced sufficiently. The sap flows freely if the night temperatures are below zero, and the day temperatures are sunny and warm. Various small producers make Maple Syrup, aand there are some very large commercial producers, particularly in the Province of Quebec. This year the price is about $20.00 per litre.
Often the site supplies pancakes and maple syrup for the public. The event is sort of a harbinger of Spring, and families often participate.
