The pigs heads have been stored in the council depot for nearly 20 years no one has missed them so just dump them. Harris's can only be remembered as a working factory by people over 30 now so lets just leave it in the past where it belongs

But Harris's had such a big impact on Calne for over 200 years.

I agree, it would be ashame to just throw them away: after all, without its history, Calne would be a very much poorer place. |

harris was such a big inpact on calne.it shouldnt be forgotten i for one would be gutted if they ever got rid of the pigs .in phelps parade.
although we shouldnt dwel on the history of calne we should honer it.the pigs head should be placed on the buildings such as the town hall. |

It seems strange that they've been kicking about in a store room for 20 years, whilst a whole selection of new buildings have gone up, especially on the old Harris site. If they're really that important to the town, they should have been incorporated into these somehow.
Not sure what they could be used for apart from that.. part of some kind of floral display on a roundabout maybe? mount them with the "welcome to Calne" signs? make bacon out of them? |

I saw some stone pig's heads in the Heritage Centre the other night. Would these be the very same ones? |

why?the heads belong to calne is part of calnes history.
