Would you say Calne has a drugs problem?

Is there a drugs problem with in calne?
I would say that there seems to be a lot harder drugs in the area in the last ten years.

As I usually say:
"Go to Bristol".

Calne is a sleepy market town.

We had people sat on our front wall dealing drugs in Bristol. We had the one legged drug dealer (the veins become infected and they get gangrene and have to have limbs amputated).

We had the brothel across the road too. Or a flat with two young ladies living in it, with different male "visitors" every 30 minutes.

There was loads of drugs flying about when i was at school nothing to mayor though.crack and herion seemed to have seeped into calne in the last few years.
i would have to agree with pimp and say that bristol certainly does have the bigger problem.

But Bristol is alot bigger. For the size of Calne we do have a problem. unless you have kids that hang around the town, you wont know how big the problem really is.

OK what are they into?

A bit of weed?

Speed?

E?

Heroin

Crack?

Coke?

I have never seen any drugtaking evidence (needles etc) round Calne.
Local lass

going back ten years needles were found behind campian close in the cut through to the garages at newcroft .the result was the cut through was closed down.
needles have been disposed of from the wreck which at one time was very well known for dealing down there.

I happen to work within the Criminal Justice System and yes there are drug users in Calne but as a percentage of offenders they are nowhere as high as say Swindon which as a real problem with drugs.

What you are saying seems to indicate it had a problem, although hard to tell how major it is if you found stuff like this over a long period of time.
Martin Peck

Legalise it and tax it. The govt can make money from cigs & booze why not drugs.
If they want to kill themselves let them.

OK controversial I know.

It was awhile ago i found the needles but i could still name over a dozen people that are hooked on the harder stuff and far to many kids that smoke weed, i could also name over a dozen dealers, one of which made a play for my daughter.....He will only get to her over my dead body  :x
Alot of the fights in calne are drug related, only a couple of weeks ago one dealer beat up another around by the flats because he was dealing on his patch!
I must agree with martin..... let them take it and kill themselves.
Local lass

juding by the paper they seem to have a huge problem down the flats .at colemans
daffy

Roll eyes i dont think Calne has a major drugs problem ,its no differant to any other town.
tricksta

I agree with daffy, drugs are rife everywhere these days it's not just confined to the big cities
Local lass

for the size of calne there is a drug problem.
tricksta

Believe me I live in a much smaller town which has a drugs problem that's the same, if not bigger than Calne, so no i wouldn't say Calne has a drugs problem Everywhere has.
kathy27

I think what is being said is that although calne does has a drugs problem, so does the rest of the world........My point is i live in calne, and its calnes drug problem that worries me.
GTB

Calne, like most people are saying, is no different than other towns when it comes to drug use. Drugs will continue to be a problem everywhere until the court and jail service gets its house in order to deal with the dealers who push this filth onto vulnerable people.

I agree, drugs aren't just a problem for the youngsters of Calne they are a problem worldwide for everybody and only society can change this
