Whats your kids school like..i am all for schools raising funds.what i do not agree with is how they use the children to put pressure on there parents to do it.
for example the latest one is that you can buy ten christmas cards designed by your child for 6.50 :?
you get the children all coming out of school saying mum buy my card so and sos mum brought there card.
another example is they held a art gallery ,which you were told about in a news letter .every childs work was there which was great. On the night the kids came out of school wearing a number what represented your childs picture.so you had the hype even if you didnt want to go of come and see my picture mum.
oh buy it mum.
you had a chance to buy your own childs picture with a frame what looked like it was from the pound shop for 7.50.
i havnt a problem in raising money for the school but i do have a problem with there methords.i heard one poor woman moaning at the art gallery event as she had four children in the school and of course she couldnt just buy the one picture she had to buy all four at £30 .
are all schools like this whats your childs school like?

I don't have any children but I listen to my colleagues who do and they are always complaining about the fund raising schemes - one school asked the children to bring in cakes for the cake stall they were holding and then the parents were invited along to buy them back - so the parents ended paying twice
The other thing they don't like is this buying a pressie for the teacher at the end of each year. And its per pupil so the teacher ends up with between 20-30 small gifts from their class. It would be understandable if the teacher was leaving or the pupils were starting secondary school - but its not, its every year and the pupils are only moving to another teacher within the school

To be fair the teachers dont ask for gifts at christmas from my childs school .and if they did it my cake making i wouldnt have a problem in it.
what i have a problem with is the way they get the kids to put pressure on the parents to buy stuff by involing the kids to the extend in which they do.
why would i want to pay 7.50 for a picture what my child has done just because its in a frame i could get him to do me one at home and frame it my self for a fraction ofd the price.
