Whats growing in yours?

Are you a keen gardener? What do you prefere veg/flowers?

Flowers are nice, but veg is nicer and fruit is nicest of all, says she looking out at the driving cold rain. No hope of any of the above if this keeps up Evil or Very Mad

I have to say I prefer vegetables. I get this real sense of satisfaction when I sit down to eat and I've grown the veg myself. You also can't beat the taste.

I love the smell of freshly dug potatoes, and just digging them is pure delight as you find spud after spud. Wink rr

We've (as always) grown far too many tomato plants, so we've got the overspill in the front garden, mixed in with the herbaceous plants. I've got several varieties of sweet peppers that need potting on as they're still too young to plant out (instant slug heaven!)

Down at the new allotment, we've got asparagus in it's 1st year, jerusalem artichokes, garlic, shallots, onions, sorrel, rocket, strawberries, raspberries, red & white currants, 3 types of potatoes and I really must put my courgette plants in, but the rain's been too heavy this weekend.

Some homegrown veg are distinctly tastier than the best organic shop bought. I'd say tomatoes and new potatoes especially. Oh and asparagus.
