The British National PartyHere's what they are offering:
| Quote: | Mission Statement
The British National Party exists to secure a future for the indigenous peoples of these islands in the North Atlantic which have been our homeland for millennia.
We use the term indigenous to describe the people whose ancestors were the earliest settlers here after the last great Ice Age and which have been complemented by the historic migrations from mainland Europe.
The migrations of the Celts, Anglo-Saxons, Danes, Norse and closely related kindred peoples have been, over the past few thousands years, instrumental in defining the character of our family of nations.
While we recognise the United Kingdom as a political entity, the BNP does not arrogantly seek to impose one set of Westminster dominated decisions across these nations. We embrace and cherish the native cultural diversity within the British Isles and wish to extend the concept of democracy to the lowest possible level, where those that are affected by a decision are the ones who influence and make the decision.
Political battle
The struggle to secure our future is being waged on many fronts. The need for political power is crucial to bring about our goals. Without effective political representation the majority of Britons, who are deeply concerned about the future, have no voice in the chambers where decisions are made. Increasingly numbers of voters are expressing apathy and discontent with the endless incompetence, lies, false promises and sleaze coming from the three parties that make up the Old Gang. The BNP will contest and win elections at council, parliamentary, Assembly or European level in order to achieve political power to bring about the changes needed.
Torch bearers of culture
The rich legacy of tradition, legend, myth and very real wealth of landscape and man-made structures is one of our island’s richest treasures. The men and women of the British National Party are motivated by love and admiration of the outpouring of culture, art, literature and the pattern of living through the ages that has left its mark on our very landscape. We value the folkways and customs which have been passed down through countless generations. We enthuse with pride at the marvels of architecture and engineering that have been completed on these islands since the construction of the great megaliths 7,000 years ago.
Liberties
Above and beyond our activities in the political world, we daily work with our people in their homes and communities addressing the fundamental issues of civil liberties and reverse discrimination. Increasingly our people are facing denial of service provision, failure to secure business contracts as well as poor job prospects as both reverse discrimination excludes our people from the school room, workplace and boardroom. A key role of the British National Party is to provide legal advice and support to victims of repression and those denied their fundamental civil rights. |
Are they still only classed as something of a protest vote at elections to keep the mainstream politicians on their toes or in these times of political sleaze will they be a serious threat to the major parties by people fed up with constant lying, mismanagement and seeing the National identity slowly disappear behind a political smokescreen?

I find it unacceptable that this organisation is given time on this site, while I am all for free speech I cannot understand why anyone with intelligence would consider supporting them.
While I would consider myself indigenous to these islands, I am not because my ancestory is firmly rooted in the anglo saxon.
The indigenous race would be the celts. In modern day thinking the Welsh/Scots/Irish with a little cornish and the remmants in Brittany.
If you watched BBC last night, the programme "The Incredible Human Journey" you would have heard the theory that human race owes its existance to a tribe of 200 who crossed from Africa to the Arabia some 70,000 years ago. Genetic testing has proven that life started in the Horn of Africa some 195,000 years ago and fossil remains have provided evidence to back up those tests.
On that basis shall we all go home?

I am very unfortunate to be related to someone who is in the BNP.........Oh how I laughed when his address ended up on that list on the internet!!
He is a real pain in the a*** to have to listen to - what makes it funny is that his kids are not white - his ex-wife was from South America and if you didn't know, you would think his chilldren were asian judging by their colour.
I know his daughter does not like her father's political beliefs and he must be stupid not to see the damage it will do his children....

As a political party who wish to represent the voting public I think they have every right to be given time - as should any political party really.
I don't necessarily agree with their views but I think they will have a lot more support at the next general election (which should be next year) because people are fed up with being lied to by our Government and not only that the amount of sleaze coming out of Westminster at the moment is incredible. The Daily Telegraph are listing expenditure from all three major parties which the tax payer then foots the bill and, no doubt you will have seen some of these lists, the items that are being claimed for is disgusting. This is why I think the BNP will attract a lot of votes because people don't trust the three main parties.
Another reason people will vote for BNP is because they are using political spin by using "buzzwords" such as tradition, British jobs for British workers, etc Their policies, like a lot of political manifestos, look great on paper almost as a sensationalist way of grabbing your attention but, in practicality, offer very little once they have crossed the T's and dotted the I's.
I think their policy statement: The British National Party exists to secure a future for the indigenous peoples of these islands in the North Atlantic which have been our homeland for millennia. is absolute nonsense. How many people can truly prove they have 1000 years worth of British blood in them? A very small percentage I would wager. I have researched my family tree on my Paternal Grandfather's side (ie. using my surname) and can prove that we are English only upto about 1750 - I havn't finished my research on the records side yet. However, I took part in a DNA test as part of a worldwide family tree event which indicated that there was a German link in my family, which is traced through my forefathers which obviously pre-dates 1750. Now, does this make me English, part-English or a Johnny Foreigner in the BNP's eyes? Where do they draw the line on who is indigenous English and who is English by birth?
There's a little bit of food for thought.
