stupid woman at tescos carpark who drives a black audi

Thsi women up tescos carpark who drives a black 04 audi a4 had a nerve .the carpark was busy yet she drove straight into a disabled parking place when i asked does she have a  badge she answered yes yet non was on display .unless stupidity and selfishness is now a disabillity she was was about  as much disabled as linford christie the nerve of some people what was worse was that someone who was disabled wanted to go in that parking space and was waiting she cut them upto get in there.

I've frequently parked in disabled parking bays in supermarkets if there is no Mother and Child. Although it may be morally wrong to use a disabled space I don't feel too bad when I see them using the Mother and Child spaces when they can't find a somewhere to park so it works both ways. Oh, and another thing, it really takes the mick when you see some of these so called disabled persons who have the badge for the parking and they then briskly walk from their car to the shop. I know one woman who has a disabled badge just because she has tennis elbow!!
Peter Dolman

there is a big issue here and the 2 disabled spaces at Tesco's are always being used by abled bodied drivers.
Is not acceptable under any circumstances for able bodied to use disable parking places any where. Anyone who does should have the book thrown at them!
Biggles

I agree Peter I often take my disabled mother shopping and find all the disabled spaces are being used by non blue badge showing cars, a few weeks ago i also went to the Calne Tescos and out side in the 2 disabled bays were 2 white vans so i parked right across the pair of them and blocked both in and stuck the blue badge on. As i was getting my mother out the car the builders came out of the Tescos and said oi you cant park there, i said wanna bet, i then started to get abuse and they said we only went in to get sandwiches and fags and they had to go to work, i said you shoulda thought of that then because we got quite a big shop to do there and could take some time (and boy did we take our time) lol, maybe they might think next time they park there  eh. The cheeky sods even said they gonna call the Police cause im parked illegally, i replied "and your not? go on ring them"
Local lass

i felt like doing the same as you biggless and blocking her in.
as for the mother and child parking issue by parking in a disabled you can still get a ticket for that.unless a car park is cancel owned there is bugger all you can do about it.
tesco cant do anything about people using them disabled spaces.
the parking up there is a huge issue and would be imporoved a great deal if the bottom end of that carpark was opened up.
kathy27

ive done that in the spaces by the post office, blocked some stuck up women in whilst i took my dad shopping oh and we had to have a coffee in the coffee shop just to make sure she was waiting for us when we got back

I agree too many people use the disabled bays that shouldnt, but im sorry i really dont agree with parent and todler bays, they didnt have them when my kids were little, i had to teach my kids to hold my hand or wait til i got the others out of the car (i had 3 under 5).
Maybe if more people done the same, kids wouldnt think its ok to walk in the middle of the road on the way home from school!!!

I, on the other hand, think that the mother and baby parking spaces is a great idea. Why should you have to struggle getting a child out of the car at a supermarket, or anywhere else for that matter, because the modern way of parking is to cram as many spaces in as possible. I have been in a car park when all the mother and baby parking spaces have been taken and you can hardly get the door open to lift a child from its safety seat. I'm not sure how you can teach a child that is not even walking how to squeeze out of a tight space?? I also think that just because you didn't have mother and baby parking spaces in your day that it should be the same for everybody else in these more enlightened times. Cars are much wider and there are a lot more of them about than say 20 or 30 years ago. Any extra safety that a mother and baby parking space provides has to be a step in the right direction surely??

It seems that we are all a bit annoyed at the misuse of parking spaces in supermarkets, etc. Perhaps if they were properly policed then this would quell a lot of the trouble that is caused?
Local lass

I do agree in the mother and child parking,i think gtb make a valed point on the fact that cars these days are wider and larger and that 20 years ago the car pack spaces where not crammed in like they are now.
I dont agree in mother and baby using disabled ,nor do i agree with disabled to use mother and child.
abitmuch

I get annoyed when people use mother and baby parking when they have a much older child. They seem to think any age of child is ok.
I agree about the standard spaces being to small. If they didn't cram them in we wouldn't need mother and baby.
oh, and did you know with a disabled badge you can park on double yellows, as long as you are not causing an obstruction!
Local lass

abitmuch ,if a sign states mother and child then they are perfectly in there right to use a space despite what ever age they may be.
You can stilll get a parking ticket if you have a disabled badge and park on double yellow .
abitmuch

isn't the whole point of mother and child parking for when you struggle with car seats and pushchairs because of tight spaces? Surely say having a 13 year old in the car, doesn't warrant the use of a mother and child space?
perhaps i'm missing something?
abitmuch

"Badge holders may park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours in England and Wales, except where there is a ban on loading or unloading."

I think you should only use the allocated spaces when you have a child in a "baby seat" rather than on a booster seat other wise you could, although maybe not seen very often, get a scenario like Kathy states.

I saw the biggest p*** take going on Sunday afternoon at Morrison's in Devizes. This bloke, along with his wife, turns up in the carpark in an old transit pick-up and promptly parks in the disabled space by the front of the shop. The man, as he is clambering out of the cab, correctly remembers to display his disabled badge before they both go into the supermarket. Neither of them looked "disabled" as they briskly walked into the entrance.

Won't be long before they give out badges free with cornflake tokens soon.

You should be able to report that to the council, bluebadge@wiltshire.gov.uk , and they can investigate and maybe remove the badge.
Local lass

great link rosco ,if i took that womans number plate i would have reported her.
To get a disabled badge isnt that easy as you have to go through your doctor and then you have to have to go through a indepentant doctor.
There are genuine cases out there but some des make you wonder.i even knew one bloke who forged a badge so that he could get closer to a event what was being held what was more shamefull was he admitted it.
There does need to be tighter restrictinion to a disabled badge.

i would love to see a disabled person get out of a disabled parking space, they all seem fine to me.
Scroungers, lets give these badges to people who need them.

Just because someone can walk doesn't mean they can walk a long way.........

You don't need a wheelchair to be disabled.
Calne_Lokal

I think the reason non-disabled people use disabled parking spaces is because they are at the front of the car park.  If they put them a bit further back and had normal spaces at the front it might solve the problem.

Has anyone not ever thought of this?

Doubtless planners consider it better for able bodied people to have to walk a few steps more than the disabled.  Big Grin

Well my Dad is about to have 1 hip replaced, and then the other one 6 weeks later.

Is he disabled????

Discuss.........
Chepfer

Pimp,

I'd say he was temporarily and perhaps temporary disabled badges should be dished out for such occasions !
pimpdriver

well at the minute he can hardly walk and is taking ibuprofen all the time (can hardly get up or down stairs), so it is just because he chose to be  less stubborn that he is getting both hips replaced (Major operation at the age of 64).

They are; when I had severe SPD in my last pregnancy and could barely walk (I was on crutches) I asked the County Council and they issued me with a badge for 6 months with the recommendation from my doctor.

It is always worth asking :)
