Slimming World - Diets

kizzy what sort of diet are you on?I joined slimming world a couple of weeks ago that isnt a bad diet.

I'm with slimming world - joined last may and have lost over 3 stone since - i have about another 2 and a half to go

last week was my first wiegh in i did 7 ib Shocked
i have done slimming world before i lost 4 and a half stone .coulnt manage the five. then put the lot back on.

there is a guy who is in my class in 10 months he has lost eight stone Shocked

slimming world is brilliant, I like it how you can eat as much of certain foods as you like, but it still includes pasta and rice etc.

it not mixing your carbohydraytes .so you can either have potatoes or meat.
do you /have you done the diet before pimp?
it is amzing what you can eat on it i had a massive platefull of chips,egg and baked beans for lunch. Shocked all completely free of syns.

I live on Green days - i can't cope with red - i actually gorge myself and end up very i'll and still feel hungry

I love experimenting with different combinations of free foods and Quorn is my saviour - I use that all the time, as are Muller light yoghurts and ryvita minis

I've posted some recipes in the food section - these are ones i use alot and are mostly for green days

I will post some more - i have quite a few but hopefully someone will get some use from them  Very Happy

last time i tasted quarn it was vile and the mince tasted like soggy cardboard.

im finding the varity of food a bit hard at the moment.

we been told to try and drink 2 litres of water eiter pure or in squash aday.its ment to speed up the wieght loss .im finding it mega hard to have that much water.

My weigh in is on a Tues evening.

I do get quite ill on red days - I can't cope with the meat.  And I find I can be more creative on green days - and I love my spuds!

Quorn is fab, it's just a shame there isn't a better selection in the shops.

As for 2litres of water, you just need to remember it is through out the whole day and not a few hours.  And if you drink it in small quantities, it doesn't seem like you are forcing it down.  I have a 250ml glass when I get up in the morning and I have a 500ml water bottle that gets refilled 3-4 times through the day, which works out from when I get up to when I go back to bed to be 16 hours.  

It is probably the same volume of fluid you would normally drink if it was tea coffee or pop. - But I stilll manage to drink quite a bit of Tea ontop of the water.  You'll soon get used to it.

also it is worth investing in some recipe books or going to the website - there are some fantastic recipes which you can try, or even help you with some ideas.

The mag is worth a read as they do suggested weekly menus, which are good if you are stuck for lunch ideas

Ive just started my diet, im doing it through my doctor (had a kick start from a horrible doctor at the hospital, he wouldn't give me the op i wanted because i was over weight and smoked!.... I'll show him!!)
My problem was i wasnt eating enough! i was only having one meal a day and nothing in between (ive been eating like that for years) also i have a thyroid problem so its not easy.
Im finding it really hard to eat 3 meals aday, im just not hungry and i dont think about food.....any ideas?

I struggled to get breakfast in to my diet - so i started with fruit and yoghurt to get my metabolism going - and now i'm hungry as soon as i wake and have cereal or toast.

Just eat light stuff to compensate for the meals (fruit, yog, salad) - and you can then gradually build up to more substantial meals (add a couple of potatoes to the salad, or have a little amount of cereal with your fruit)

I now eat tons throughout the day - and i'm losing weight  Laughing

by not eating your body thinks that it has to hold on to the food and which will turn to fat.
i got a crappy diet sheet from the doc what i just could not stick to .slimming world is a very easy diet and its amazing just how much you can eat

i didnt get a diet sheet, as the nurse said i wasnt stupid!!  Laughing  and she wanted to get me eating properly first, and i dont see the sence in spending pounds to loose pounds, and i really dont want to be weighed infront of others  Embarassed  plus ive gotta build my self confidence as the doctor at ruh shattered it for me  Mad

I felt like that at first - but i needed to do something, and i tried by my self and was really struggling - so my Mum agreed to come with me, and it's something i look forward to now - i've made great friends, the group leader is fab and very encouraging, and it is quite discreet.  

Yes it costs money, but the group support is well worth it, when you are having a bad week its really reassuring that there are people you can meet up with and discuss your failings and even give advice if you have found something that works.  Also we have a really good laugh

i would agree in what kizzy is saying the support of a group does make all the difference.
i have failed when i dont stay to class

good luck local lass, I know what you mean about the support, but as there are 6 of us living here i cant cheat!
I know i dont eat enough, but my agruement is that i lost over 5 stone not eating (or only eating when i was hungry, it worked,) the only reason ive put some weight back on is that ive had to give up work now.....but when im feeling better the dogs will be taken for longer walks than ever before  Laughing

i put on 3 and a half pound this week .
which is what i expected to be honest as i had eaten a lot over easter so this week have gone very strictly back on to it..

ever heard of marmite balls??

par boil some potatoes not much .
in a sand wich bag put a tea spoon of marmite ,

use a melon scoop to scoop balls from your potaoe then place in sandwich bag give a good shake to cover them then roast.

apparently they are ment to be really nice.

I hate marmite - YUK!

Didn't go this week, was too tired after my weekend away and I did fall off the diet for 2 days (a bottle of wine and a couple of cans, 2 easter eggs, fried breakfast  Embarassed )

Oh well straight back on it today - if I can't have a blow out now and then, I get really depressed - I'm just grateful my jeans don't feel tight which I hope means I didn't put too much on.  Shocked

I not really sure how much i want to lose, i want to get down to the size i was before i met block, (so its his fault i put weight on!!) I didnt really weigh myself before so i can only go by my clothes. Ive just started taking some tablets now that remove the fat from your food/body, and im walking every where so i hope i will be into my summer clothes soon!

im still find drinking all the water hard ,i need to walk places more i hate walking round the streets i would prefere through fields or forest.but hate going on my own and prefere to walk if i had a purpose which is why i nick my parents dogs she gets a good walk.
and i get the excerise.

The tablets are called "xenical" you can only get them from your doctor (which is why i wanted to do my diet through him  Smile )
I must warn you the side affects are um shall i say YUCK! With out going into to much detail, just think of the only way undigested fat can come out of your body.   Wink   but they do work, so its worth it.

Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad NOT HAPPY!!! been in the garden for the past two weeks, lifting, digging and generally putting my back out. My jeans are starting to fall off me now aswell and went for my weigh in today........and put on TWO bloody pounds  Mad  
Nurse said its because im toning up and muscle weighs more than fat...... i told her i didnt want to be a muscle women  Confused

dont get disheartened kathy .lots of things can affect your wieght time of the month being the altamate.
i lost a pound total now being 12 pound.till 6 bags of suger which isnt bad in 5 weeks.

Aaahh! I wasn't very big, used to be a size 12 and about 9 1/2 stone - however, gained a little after I left school, was about a size 14.  Then reached about a 16 during my first job (lots of junk food - I worked at Leigh Deli)

Then I met my fiance - and I think it's called contentment, slowly creeped up to a tight 20!!!

I have now managed to get back to just under a 16 (still too big for a 14)  I hope to lose about another 2 1/2 stone to get to a 12/14 - I don't want to be any smaller than that as I'm quite broad and I think I'd look stupid.

I get weeks often where I stay the same - But at least it wasn't a gain.

I stick to green, never red, i feel really sick on red days, and i'm not a big meat eater.  There's quite a few in my group who only do red and they talk about having bacon for breakfast, chicken for lunch and steak for tea, snacking on packs of ham - just the thought makes me feel queasy.   tard
