Should the uk drop out of hosting the olympicswith the current situation .and the fact that the games has gone well over budget should the uk pull out of hosting them?

WE JUST DONT HAVE THE MONEY WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY PROPOSED AND WHAT IT WILL COST IS OVER FOUR TIMES THE AMOUNT.
IF YOU HAD A BUILDER GIVE YOU A ESTIMATE AND THE BILL WAS 4 TIMES THE AMOUNT FOR THE WORK WOULD YOU PAY?
WHEN IT WAS PROPOSED MOST OF THE SPORT COMPLEXS WERE NOT UP TO IT.
WE SHOULD NOT EVEN HAVE GOT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE .
IS THE OLYMPICS REALLY WORTH THE AMOUNT OF DEBT WHIAT WE WILL HAVE JUST FOR FOUR WEEKS?

Hopefully we will have a legacy form the Olympics of good sports facilities and the business and attention it will bring to the UK over that period. Not seen where it's been said that the current estimate is 4x the original value, do you have an article you can link to?

I think the Olympics is a fantastic thing to have here.
I believe the marketing and outlay of the project will pay for itself in the amount of tourism and income brought to the country far after the games. As long as it is done properly.
Think of australia and for me one of the first things i think of is sydney and the olymics. It's painted a nice picture in my mind and i'd love to go there, partly because of it.
Also think of whats happend to sports in that country. Before the olympics australia were a relative 2nd class country in terms of many sports apart from rugger and cricket .... now look at it... swimming, hockey, soccer, athletics ..and just about any you can think of !.
Bring it on, support it and let it make you proud of who you are ..... British !!!!!

Nah, keep the olympics! - so what if the country is struggling at the moment!
it will do this country some good in the long term (jobs, tourism, etc)
- after all, we're British!

Although I am not keen on the Olympics we certainly can't back out now with only three years to go. The government seem to be finding money everywhere at the moment - even down the back of the Commons sofa!
The Olympics has gone from being an amateur honourable sport to a drug addled sport for cry babies!
