I live in Kent now so take the flying lessons at Rochester airport and the scuba lessons in Maidstone. Good idea local lass, Idea I'll get some photos taken!

Local lass

looks good dave.
how many lessons do you have to take before being able to fly by your self?
Dave Weston

For an international private licence, I need a minimum of 45 hours with a minimum of 10 hours solo. I think I go solo after about 25 hours!................scary!! Laughing
Local lass

but will you ever be rich anough to afford your own plane? Laughing
good on you for doing it.
Dave Weston

Probably not, a cheap one would start at about £50k.
I would be able to hire one for just over £100 per hour and I'd only need a minimum of 10 flying hours each year to maintain the licence.
The mortgage will very soon be history so I've got to spend that cash somehow eh Laughing
Local lass

Good on you .saves getting stuck in traffic.
so where are you learning to scuba dive?
Dave Weston

Learnt scuba in a pool and some local lakes in Kent.
Qualified PADI open water diver now. Can dive to 18m anywhere in world.
Have to find some hot, clear, exotic waters next year.
Local lass

lakes must have been murkey.
whats the best sort of find when you are down there?
Dave Weston

Yea, lakes were quite murky, see about 3 or 4 metres only.
Plenty of shopping trolleys and dumped cars there to look at.
Some of the divers have also started a gnome garden there and take a new gnome each time they visit.
Local lass
