Running out of Salt.I heard on the local newa this morning that Wiltshire county council is running out of grit and salt for the roads.
Apparently they had 7000 tons at the start of this week and are down too 1500 now. With the incoming snow, we may be a little stuck if this weather carries on for much longer .
What are the alternatives of getting places ?
or
Should we be working from home if we can ?

Am bringing work home everyday in case I get snowed in.
Surprised the CC didn't order more salt in after the new year's freeze! or didn't stockpile left over salt from the last 2 mild winters.
Yet more pressure on WCC budgets

its a shambles.
This and the pictures from London where the steps of the main station were not gritted.
All the side roads are a no-go, unless you wait for the afternoon when much of it goes.

Use dishwasher salt if you have no alternative. I live on a hill, our streets grit bin is now empty and I doubt we will get anymore this winter.
I have to work - but if the schools are closed I can't !!

Trouble is the lesson we all to learn is that, like everything else rock salt will run out one day, w cant expect to just keep throwing salt on the roads everytime it snows (which may be more often form now on).
