I think the Royals are good as a representative of the UK, freed from party political lines. Much better than elected politicians that serve only for a term or two, and are intent often on being elected/re-elected/lining their pockets for retirement.

Well said Rosco. I think the royal family would be a bit like Calne leisure centre in as much as nobody would appreciate what we have got until they were gone

  Ithink its great they have been married for so long, its a shame their kids are divorced exept Edward .
I would imagine that all the queen and old phil would want to do now would to stay at home and put there feet up at there age not trapsing around the world .
