May I be as bold as to make another suggestion reguarding ranks?
The method that is being used at the moment is used in so many different places and I consider it boring. (please note this view may not be shared by others). So I am putting forth a suggestion of using random or bizarre ranks. For example on the forum I run, I use the following ranks...
I Have an active topic within the forum for people to suggest rank names and many of them have been decided by my forum member's.
But I have just come up with an idea. How about a monopoly style rank? Name the ranks after streets in calne starting with the 'undesirable' streets and working our way up to 'posh' streets. I will be bold enough to say that, to me, Ogilvie square, would be the old kent road with wessington park being the mayfair end. But hey, I just thought of that monopoly idea while I was typing this. Needs a lot more thought.
But anyway, back to topic, How about coming up with a unique rank system?

I created a miltary style ranking system on here because it makes perfect sense - you get promoted in miltary rank the more you post. I have the miltary ranking style on another site where I am also an admin and members like it because it is quirky - they like to be a Colonel or a Regimental Sergeant Major.

Can't say I am honestly bothered about the rankings - you get the absolute post count anyway, so it's rather redundant.

It would have to be over 5000 posts for that one clunk.
A Thousand posts are nothing on a forum.I am a member of one forum and someone has over 30.000 posts. :D

Generally speaking, these are the forums that have high posters.

I have seen one rural based forum where two people have over 20,000 posts made over three years. Obviously they don't get out much.
Great idea about the rankings though.

I have altered the rankings and given them some new titles. All the new titles have a Calne based theme. There are also some amusing ranks amongst the new ones but you will have to be quick to see them because they only last for a few posts.
