stricktly speaking it is part of calne,even cherhil on addresses is calne and going the other way as far as studley is calne.Derry hill is chippenham..

Studley and Derry Hill are more or less parellel

no they are not.
studley begins just above blackdog hill ,you have the studley crossroad where you can turn left in to derry hill ,untill that first corner you are still in studley ,old road is also studley.
you then have the village of studley the other side which reaches down till stanley.
derry hill starts as mentioned at the white gates of bowood.you have the village all the way down the old hill towards the lysley is derry hill then you have derry hill up as far as the nash hill turning heading towards sandy lane.

I usually cycle along the route between Castlefields and Chippenham (north wilts rivers route) and I was informed that the sewage works is Stanley, and Stanley village not far past there, just down the road that crosses over the cyclepath between the millenium bridge and the 3 mile mark, and that Studley begins at the crossroads, because the village is just down the road that would be the option to the right hand side at the crossroads when driving to Chippenham from Calne on the A4.

stanley is classed as stanley,chippenham
studley is calssed as calne.

yus, and the people that live in them look and act funny, as are people that live in Calne, Chippenham, and everywhere else on this planet.
