Proposed sand pit road developmentReceived a Letter today from Wiltshire Council, that an appeal has been received in respect of outline application for residential development for about 350+ houses, on the land off sandpit road. In light of the proposed houses near to JBS this will surely overwhelm calne's infrastructure and who is going to buy all these houses?!!!!!

does this relate to the application declined after a strong campaign by locals?
Just where are all these people going to work, where are their children going to school, are we going to get improved roads.
there are approx 650 houses in planning subject to approval or already have approval. Planning authorities should have to take into account what the impact on the existing town will be.

Yes, NWDC turned down their application on a number of grounds and they are obviously trying their luck with the new council!! Knowing people who are trying to sell their homes who live on the bypass, some for as long as a year! and bearing in mind that Lynham will be closing in the next couple of years, who is going to buy these homes!
Not forgetting the strain this will put on already stretched amenities.

Yes i heard on the grapevine that the plans have been revised and they are re submitting them.
It looks like they wont be giving up easily ........
Perhaps a good time for any local residents to get a petition in the pipeline !

there was a petition and very strong oposition to the proposals and I do not doubt the same arguements will be valid.
It seems though that applicants get their own way on many occasions eg the cement batching works on portemarsh estate.
