PC Sales and Support for home and business

Hey all   ,

Long-time lurker, first time poster.  Got a few friends and customers who use Calnetalk on a regular basis and they suggested I popped a note on here.

I run RASCOM I.T. LIMITED, a small family-run business on the Porte Marsh Industrial Estate offering sales and support of Windows-based computer systems to home users and businesses.

Although we sell our products throughout the country, we limit support to local areas only and aside from our ads in the Town Crier, all of of support work comes from word-of-mouth and recommendations.

If you need anything then please feel free to call us on 811999 or visit our website at www.rascom-it.co.uk.

We also operate a very successful specialist division in the sale of touchscreen monitors and related components (including point of sale solutions).  Again, for further information, call us on 811999 or visit our dedicated touchscreen website at www.touchscreens-direct.co.uk.

There are a number of computer companies in Calne and its surrounding areas offering a wide range of products and services and some of us pass business between each other if we are unable to take on the work at that time, need additional assistance or the job requires additional equipment which one business may not have immediately available.  We hear many stories of people going outside the area for assistance with their computers when there are some very good companies right here in the town.  We can also recommend companies in the area who work and support with Apple Mac systems as well so it really is the case with us, and many of the other companies in the area, that if you call us and we cannot help you, we're likely to be able to point you in the direction of someone who can.

Looking at your prices, I don't charge enough.
I charged £30 for a PC rebuild yesterday. No wonder I am poor.
Got any part time jobs going?

Hmmm, I'd say not at £30 - there's a good couple of hours work involved there with getting the latest device drivers, updates etc.!  Don't know if I know you or if we've worked together in the past - feel free to PM me with your details.

We're pretty much in line (if not lower) with most other I.T. companies that we've dealt with in Calne, Chippenham, Swindon and even Bristol.

I don't work for anyone. I do it for friends, family and people who have been recommended my services.
Been building and repairing computers for 12 years ish. My first computer being a second hand IBM PS2. Only bought one new computer in my time. It was a 166 cyrix (sp) with 32 meg ram and a massive 4 gig hard drive. Cost me £1,899 from Time (still have it as well). Since then, I have upgraded components every 3 to 4 months and my current computer has cost me less than £400 in components over 15 months. I prefer to upgrade parts frequently. Much cheaper in the long run I feel.

I have nothing on paper to say I can do it, as I am self taught. Was thinking of starting a business, but feel that the current economic state may not be worth it. Although people may be more inclined to upgrade and repair rather than replace. Wouldn't mind a part time job with computers, though. ;)
