Hi Venus
not the goddess of love I ascertain from your comments?
kids are people, no matter how small or uncouth. They have as much right to be where they wanna be, although there are loads of cases of discrimination against children which would not be tolerated were it directed against any other group, except perhaps Gypsies?

They do make the place look untidy, although some of them try to be less noticable with hoodies up!

Can only blame parents for that: no child of five would really know what it meant and would be repeating only what they'd heard.

I think that ended when we stopped sending them working "down pit"!

One of the things which dissappoints me most about some of the youngsters you find on the streets today is their lack of respect for their elders however to temper that comment slightly perhaps we should look at ourselves because you have to earn respect.

so its ok for kids as young as five to be out on the streets using fowl language?????
I walk my dogs late at night and im surprised by the amount of kids still out at gone 10.
where do there parents think they are??
maybe they just dont care!
after all they can be where they want!!!!
My kids while of school age had to be in by 9, and where not allowed to just hang around the streets!!

-blame the lack of parenting skills for the lack of respect and foul language with the youth of today.
As for the kids saying that there is no where to go and nothing to do these days, throw them back 30 years or so, THEN they can say that with justification.
Trouble is these days a lot of parents just dont care, then wonder why the kids do drink and drugs at such a young age.
(wonder when they saw mum or dad doing what they do?)
Having said my piece, not all of them are a***holes, but if they hang around with the wrong 'uns, they get tarnished with the same brush.
I have also noticed a lot of very young kids (some as young as 5) out when its been gone 10pm, W H Y ? Where were the parents?

I think that kids on the streets after 10pm would not really be affected by school holidays. School, last I knew, closes daily to kids at around 4pm.

oh how silly of me, thats ok then, so of course kids can go where they like or say what they like to who ever, because they are on school holidays and dont have to get up for school in the mornings

Have you noticed the title of the topic on this particular thread Kathy? It's not called school kids on the street.

- there are more of them out and about at silly times during the holdiay period (because they dont have school the following day).

-obviously kathy can read (how well can you?), and to be repetitive, there are more of them out and about at silly times during the holdiay period (because they dont have school the following day).

school holidays should be canceled! I only get 4 weeks a year, why should the sprogs get any more?
Either that or make them get a summer job.
The older ones can work in burger bars, and the little ones can be used to clean out chimneys and other small places. They could help our council out by picking up litter/dog poo (don't get me started), therefore they will be of value to our community, and help lower our council tax bills.

Geddi. You are just trying to make an argument again
its no wonder block and i havent been on here for awhile, everything we say you disagree with or try to pick holes in
The point i was making was, kids on the streets is a problem all year round but is made worse during the shcool holidays because they dont have to get up for school the folowing day
Your quote was:
kids are people, no matter how small or uncouth. They have as much right to be where they wanna be,
My point is:
Yes they are people and as such should be taught to live within the law and respect others.
But again it comes down to parenting!

Does make you wander where the parents are though ....... it's so irresponsible.
The parents need a wake up call ........

have you ever considered why they dont know how 2 look after their children? well it had to come ffrom somewhere and you say children swear because of their parents well their parents cant treat them well or teach them to be good human beings because their parents were this way with them.

where i live its amzing the amount of youngsters out after dark ,whats even worse is when you get a say a 9 year looking after a two year old .
there is a huge difference these days though.,when we were younger we respected are elders more, were frightened of the coppers and more so your parents.
now adays kids dont care.
it is worse on school holidays simply because most parents are at work or busy with younger kids and just let the olders roam the streets.
