A tasty fresh garden Meal

Cleaning up my files I re-found this item. It may have some interest for some.

http://xrl.us/rmub

7 September 2006. Today I prepared a vegetarian meal from produce in my garden. The vegetables were picked and pulled, cooked and served. The pictures are annotated in the bottom left of the enlarged photograph.

The drink was made by beating watermellon and frozen cranberies in the blender.

The only food not produced from the garden was cranberries and corn on the cob.
The only condiment used was a bit of butter.

The parsnips were boiled then lightly buttered and browned under the broiler. Some were also just mashed.

Hey man, With a bit of practice that meal with a little butter on the vegetables is as tasty as adding meat to the meal.

I eat meat, particularly when doing hard work, which is now mostly a thing of the past in our "Modern" society. But now I can get long with fresh fruit, anad vegetables with no difficulty. I do admit to eating a bit more dried beans daily in lieu of meat.

I am not fanatic about it, but just changed my eating habits. After all, what we eat is mostly habit, custom, and what is available.

Am I healthier? Hard to judge, since I was healthy before the modifications. But the change fits into modern nutritional dogma, for better or worse.
