I was in Swindon yesterday and had to go through 6 garages to eventually get some fuel !!!!
It doesn't seem to me that people have been panick buying though ..... i have seen no queues etc anywhere, i think think that they've just run dry through normal use.

Unfortunately calne just doesn't have the shops it used to, people need to go out of calne to shop for certain things!

Kathy27: I use Chippenham, Swindon (very rarely as I don't like the place much), Bath, and Melksham, Trowbridge and Devizes as well.
I go by bus or bus and train. I take my kids sometimes and we make a day of it. I meet loads of people and read loads of books, see lots and generally have a very pleasant time of it.
I even went down to Glastonbury one Sunday to meet some friends who had come over from Holland for a ceremony. I thought it would be a nightmare, but was determined to go anyway. In fact it was dead easy and I had three hours with my friends. Well worth it!
There are days and/or occasions when it all goes Pete Tong, but so do cars and other private transport types.

My point was ged that people have to go out of calne for somethings, which you obviously do aswell.
For people with out cars, yes public transport is a way of giving them the freedom to travel.
The last time i used a bus it cost me and my daughter £4 return to chippenham, I could have taken 7 people to chippenham in my car for the same amount. It also took twice as long to get there!

BP in calne has no unleaded.
Murco will be out today aswell
Didn't see a garage in Chippenham that was selling any fuel!

Kathy27: Yup. you're right, that was my point.
The other point is as valid really. I also pay £4 return to Chippenham with one of my kids, although there are travel passes and things which bring the price down for multi-journeys. I am reasonably happy to pay the current prices.
There is also the cycle track, which takes about an hour very leisurely trip and costs almost nothing. Get's you fit as well (or kills ya!)
