Upshot of meeting was in order to push the campaign forward it is nescessary to write or email (lrobertson@northwilts.gov.uk) or ring North Wiltshire District Council with your reasons why the two proposed sites in Calne are not suitable.

For example:-

i) Calne is undergoing an expensive regeneration process (new shops, new houses) and a site clearly seen from the main north road into Calne would undermine these improvements.

ii) One of the criteria for a gypsy site is that it should be within one mile of a secondary school, this would not be the case if sited in Calne.

The decision will be based on a point system, this should be used as much as possible when compiling your Letters to the District Council. The point system can be found at http://www.northwilts.gov.uk/executive_report_13_and_appendix_1.pdf
