New years fireworksby now you proberly would have seen the display from london to celebrate the new year coming in.and what a fantastic display it was to .it was much better than sydneys.but at 1.3 million pounds it does seem a alfull lot.just where does the money come from?wouldnt have been better being payed into hospitals??

I think the coppers have been dumped on by the government at the moment with their pay increase whereas the MP's are planning a vote soon to give themselves a pay rise. I have the upmost respect for the police who do a crappy job against the underbelly of society whilst having their hands tied together with stupid laws which are meant to protect this countries citizens.

I do agree with what your saying, i just dont think that much of them at the min, after there responce when my son got beat up, its not all the police im down on just one

the thing is it was there choise to become a policeman/soilder .

i think the money would be better spend in hospitals, after all not many people choose to go in there.

it still bugs me that they can afford these sort of stuff and yet are hospitals are so understaffed through lack of money.and yet we can afford to host the olympics

just hope not many are taken sick then or the hospitals will be over crowded and short staffed

What is it with everyone its not often we get one over on the Aussies like we did this year and anywy the money is easily covered by the congestion charge. Lets be proud of being British
